Fall Festivities!
Venture Out: On November 11th from Noon to 4PM, HALO will be making a trip to Venture Out! Be sure to not miss out on this great opportunity for a day filled with exercise, team building, and FUN! For more information or to sign up contact us at mizzouHALO@hotmail.com

"Who Let the Dogs Out?": On November 16th, HALO will be making a service trip to the Central Missouri Humane Society to walk dogs from 3:30 to 5PM. You must sign a liability waiver and be at least 18 years old to participate. The Humane Society has suggested that we bring at least ten people, as that is the most manageable number, but everyone is welcome to sign up! Have questions or want to sign up? Contact us at mizzouHALO@hotmail.com. After you signing up and completing your liability waiver, you can submit it to any HALO Executive Board member (or if you scan it, you can send it to the Mizzou HALO email)

Happy Halloween and "Dia de los Muertos"!
Come celebrate Halloween with HALO at the HALO Bonfire at 8:30 PM on Wednesday, October 31st, 2012
On November 2nd, Celebrate “Dia de los Muertos” or “Day of the Dead” at The Writer's Place(3607 Pennsylvania, Kansas City, MO). This Mexican holiday celebrates souls of the departed with altars bearing sugar skeletons, copal incense, marigolds, and favorite goodies of loved ones. Exhibit will include altars, paintings, and other art forms. Featured poets include Jose Faus, Xanath Caraza, Maria Vasquez Boyd, and others.
- Admission: $5 Non-Members, $3 Members

On Thursday, October the 4th in The Shack for free food, fun, and poetry! The Kansas City Latino/a Writers Collective will be reading some of their poetry at the event along with some student work!
